The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has published a WBPSC Recruitment 2022 Notification for a recruitment drive for the positions of a lab assistant, senior scientific officer, and scientific assistant at the forensic science laboratory’s narcotics division. On October 19, 2022, the online applications will be made available on the official website, wbpsc.gov.in, according to the announcement.

WBPSC Recruitment Eligibility Criteria 2022

  1. Education Qualification 
Senior Scientific Officer
  • A second-class master’s degree in chemistry, or its equivalent, from an accredited university, together with five years of experience using analytical techniques and conducting research

Or 

  • a scientific degree from an accredited university, or its equivalent, with chemistry as one of the courses, and seven years of forensic chemistry work experience
  • Work experience in a reputable forensic science lab. (optional)
Scientific Assistant
  • a science degree from an accredited university, with chemistry listed among the topics, or an equivalent
  • laboratory work experience of two years. 
  • Work experience in a reputable forensic science lab (optional)
Laboratory Assistant
  • a science degree from a reputable university.
  • Alternatively, a Higher Secondary School Diploma with a Pass in Science Subjects and One Year of Analytical Work Experience in a Scientific Laboratory.
  1. Age Limit 
Senior Scientific Officer Age restrictions of up to 36 as of January 1, 2022, are relaxable for individuals who are otherwise well-qualified and experienced.
Scientific Assistant As of January 1, 2022, you couldn’t be older than 39. If you were otherwise qualified and experienced, you could be.
Laboratory Assistant Not older than 40 years as of January 1, 2022, with some exceptions for candidates who are otherwise well-qualified and experienced
