Note: As per Drik Panchang, Basant Panchami Tithi starts at 12:34 PM on January 25 and will end at 10:28 AM on January 26.

Basant Panchami 2023 Puja Vidhi 

Basant Panchami is celebrated as the arrival of spring. Goddess Saraswati is worshipped on this day, things needed for worship are Maa Saraswati & Ganesha Ji idol or photo,  yellow clothes, mango leaves, saffron, turmeric, intact (अक्षत), tilak, gangajal (Water of Holy river ‘Ganga’), urn (Kalash), Saraswati Yantra, durva grass, marigold (gende ka phool), mustard,  besan ladoos, and other sweets.

Once all the ingredients of the puja are gathered, then after that you have to follow the following things to perform the puja.

  • First of all, wake up early in the morning and take a bath and wear clean yellow clothes.
  • After bathing and wearing new clothes, you have to place idols or photos of Goddess Saraswati and Ganesha at one place.
  • After placing the photo or idol, decorate it with yellow cloth and flowers.
  • Now, you have to keep books, copies, and musical instruments at the place of worship.
  • Apply Kumkum, and Akshat, then after that, you offer a yellow flower ‌& fruits before an idol or photo of Goddess Saraswati and Ganesha.
  • In the end, you have to offer ladoos made of gram flour and then worship Goddess Saraswati and Ganesha by reciting mantras.
