You can receive real-time information on the status of your application after enrolling on the app. On iOS and Android devices, it may be downloaded. Ways to Check Passport Application Status Offline?

You can check the progress of your passport application offline using the following techniques:

  • National Call Centre: You can reach a Citizen Service Executive at the National Call Centre by dialling 18002581800 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. to inquire about the status of your application. Outside of regular business hours, you can still use the Automated Interactive Voice Response (IVRS) service, which is accessible every single day.
  • Through SMS: Send the following SMS from your registered mobile number (the one listed on your passport application form) to get updates on the status of your passport application: 9704100100STATUS FILE NUMBER. Please be aware that you must pick the paid SMS service option while completing your application.

What Does Your Application Status Mean?

Not Available This notification indicates that your application is still travelling to us. Your application is carried to a mail facility, your money is handled, and it is also recorded into our system during this period. Your application has arrived at the mail facility when your tracking number displays “Arrived”. Your application has been received by the intake facility when your payment has been processed. From the time you apply until your application status is “In Process” at one of our passport agencies or centres, it could take up to 2 weeks.
In Process One of our organisations or centres is currently reviewing your application. Your chosen service and our current processing times will determine how long your application is In Process.
Approved  After carefully considering your application, we will now start printing your finished passport.
Mailed  Your passport will be delivered to the address you indicated on your application. For the tracking number, visit our online passport status system. Your supporting documents, including birth certificates and previous passports, will be mailed separately and could take up to 4 weeks to arrive after you acquire your new passport.

How to check the Passport Dispatch and Delivery Status?

Indian Speed Post often sends a requester’s passport to their current address (as mentioned in the passport application form). Utilize the Speed Post-Tracking Utility to monitor the progress of your passport delivery.

Online delivery statuses frequently diverge from real-time delivery statuses. It is therefore best to get in touch with your local Speed Post Center about this. A Speed Post Center employee will return it to the sender if they are unable to find your address. To check the dispatch and delivery status of your passport, take the following actions:

Step 3: Navigate to “Track Consignment” by clicking on the website’s tools. In the “Consignment Number” section, enter the 13-digit tracking number. Then press the “Search” button.

If you do not see any delivery tracking data, your passport has not been dispatched.


You can also use the Indian Post’s SMS service to track the status of your passport’s delivery. Send your 13-digit tracking number to 166 or 51969 in the format POST TRACK Your 13-digit tracking number>.

You can obtain the passport from the regional passport office in an emergency. Keep in mind that you must fill out an application form declaring your need to pick up the passport immediately. Your request to pick up the passport in person from their office may be approved or denied by the regional passport authorities.
