Notification for recruitment of 92 Group 1 posts was released by the Public Service Commission, Andhra Pradesh on October 1, 2022. Candidates had applied online from October 13 to November 02, 2022. APPSC Group 1 Hall Ticket 2022 is now scheduled to be out by the final week of December 2022 and then Preliminary Examination will take place on January 09, 2023.

- Exam is going to be conducted in offline mode in 13 cities of Andhra Pradesh.
- The language of the paper will be Telugu and English.
- There will be two papers, each will have a total number of 120 objective questions.
- Exam time duration to touch the maximum number of questions in each paper will be only 120 minutes.
- In Paper I, questions will be asked from History and Culture, Constitution polity, Social Justice and International relations, Indian and Andhra Pradesh Economy and Planning & Geography.
- In Paper II, questions will be asked from General Mental Ability, Administrative and Psychological Abilities, Science and Technologies, Current events of Regional, National and International importance.
There will be provision of negative marking system, for each incorrect response ⅓ marks is going to be deducted.
